About Shirley
Hello & welcome to my studio!
Before I introduce you to a few of my dolls, I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.
My name is Shirley Johnston and I first started making porcelain dolls down in Invercargill in 1988. Since then, and quite a few dolls later! I have been awarded the title of "Master of Dollmaking" from the Doll Artisan Guild (a world-wide organisation) and have also been awarded the "Gold Seal of Excellence" from the New Zealand Doll Federation. As well, I have competed in many shows and have many awards to show for my dolls.
I have been teaching dollmaking now for ten years, and really love the social aspect of meeting and nurturing new dollmakers. I'll never get tired of seeing the joy on the face of a student as she shows off her first doll - what a lovely job I have!!
Please feel free to ring, fax, or e-mail (maybe even write a letter!) me if you wish to visit my studio in person, or if you want a copy of my greenware list.
I love to hear from fellow doll lovers.
